mcollazo Luau Party! Sep 13, 2009 10:54 AM Hello SG! I am trying to throw a Luau dinner party for 12 guest and I am almost done with figuring everything out and now I am stuck.  The party is in two weeks and I realized I don't have enough dinnerware for 12 people.  Please help!  I am trying to make this dinner party semi formal and I don't want to use paper plates.  Does anyone know where I can get plain dinnerware for inexpensive?  I hate to spend hundreds of dollars for dinnerware I will not need after the party.  I live alone, what am I going to do with a dinnerware set for 12?
samma14 The Starving College Student(s) Oct 10, 2008 6:53 AM We really are. Starving, that is. Most of us are lucky to squeeze in two full meals in a day. I can't remember the last time I had a real piece of meat or a nuitritionally well rounded meal. My diet largely consists of five items: peanut butter, wheat bread, saltines, and cereal. On a good day, I'll enjoy a Gala apple. I'm sure my college cohorts can nod in sad empathy. So, I need help. We need help. We're recipe ignorant, broke, and starving for ideas. Anyone want to post wallet friend recipes as feedback?
ALSW Mini Meatloaves Jun 16, 2008 5:34 AM I have this coworker whom I love dearly, but the girl can barely turn on the oven, much less use it. I was showing her some of the meal ideas I had for this month and she was immediately intrigued by this recipe, so she decided to try it. And even with her lack of culinary skills, she said they were delicious and easy! She even brought them in the next day to show everyone what she had accomplished - and how good they were! Plus, they're easy to fix to please everyone in your family.
ALSW Super Easy Chicken Enchilada Skillet May 22, 2008 6:07 AM We tried this last night and it was good! I'm not the biggest Ranch dressing fan, but it really worked in this dish. I ended up using cooked refrigerated biscuits instead of tortillas because I wanted a more substantial meal and it worked out. Yum. Next time I would add a little hot sauce to spice it up a bit more - and there will be a next time!
ALSW Crab Casserole May 21, 2008 5:37 AM I know what you're thinking - how can crab meat be inexpensive? Well, this recipe calls for imitation crabmeat or for regular crabmeat. And I have to say that I was a little skeptical of using imitation crab meat, but this was delicious! I mixed the ingredients (minus the celery ribs and cayenne), adding a little extra crab, and put it in the fridge overnight. The flavors really blended well and there are hardly any leftovers today. Definitely making this again.
